Flagship Pedagogy Events

EHL Hospitality Business School organizes annual events designed to strengthen our internal teaching culture and connect our faculty with broader academic networks. Discover how EHL Hospitality Business School faculty are shaping the future of teaching through dialogue, experimentation, and shared practice.

Advancing Teaching Excellence Through Community and Collaboration

At EHL Hospitality Business School, pedagogical development is a shared journey built on trust, reflection, and exchange. We believe that excellence in teaching emerges not only from individual expertise, but also from collaborative exploration and ongoing dialogue among peers.

To foster this culture, EHL Hospitality Business School's Teaching & Learning team curates a series of events throughout the academic year — from high-impact forums to informal exchanges — that create space for faculty to come together, learn from one another, and drive forward the practice of teaching.

These events serve as a platform for:

  • Sharing effective practices and research-informed strategies

  • Experimenting with new approaches in a supportive environment

  • Building a vibrant academic community rooted in mutual learning

  • Engaging with external experts and trends in higher education

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Conference

The SoTL Conference is EHL Hospitality Business School's premier annual event dedicated to advancing scholarly teaching practices. It brings together educators, researchers, and academic leaders to explore evidence-based strategies that enhance teaching and learning in hospitality and beyond.

Through paper presentations, interactive workshops, and keynote addresses, the conference creates a platform for rich exchange between EHL Hospitality Business School faculty and global experts from institutions such as the HES-SO and beyond.

Scholarship of Teaching & Learning

  • Fosters cross-institutional dialogue on academic innovation
  • Supports research into student engagement and learning outcomes

Pedagogical Days

Pedagogical Days are EHL Hospitality Business School's internal faculty development events focused on experimentation, peer exchange, and the practical challenges of teaching in our context. Organized each semester, these half- or full-day sessions offer discussions about current teaching priorities.

Why it matters

  • Encourages experimentation in a safe, collegial setting

  • Showcases internal best practices and innovations

  • Strengthens ties across departments and campuses

Pedagogical Days are also a gateway for faculty to co-create content, contribute to teaching resources, and reflect together on what works — and what could evolve — in our learning environments.
